Lessons from this story you can explore are the lifecycle of the butterfly, healthy foods and food groups, colors and counting and more! Wow, all that in one book! Story time is also a great opportunity to explore language though our AAO visuals and EQ questions. See the links below! Math Activities Here are some theme related math activities. Counting caterpillars where you can have your child use finger paint or crayons to make a green(or any color) circle for each number. Also, you will see a sorting activity based on food groups. This week's social story from Teach Town is about personal space. How appropriate is this lesson right now. Although we are unable to access our Teach Town videos, below you will see a great link to a social story you can read with your child. Practice and model this with your child. In class we often talk about asking before hugging, using our words to get someone's attention and asking for a turn - not taking from our friends. These are all behaviors you can teach and model at home.
