Welcome back from a wonderful Spring Break week. We hope you and your family enjoyed some time off from digital learning and relaxed. The weather was delightful and although we continue to practice social distancing there are many ways to get outside and play! Stay healthy! We have some great new activities for you to do with your child as we move into week 4 of digital learning. Below you will find information and activities on our letter of the week, book of the week, theme based activities, math and science activities and songs and fingerplays. We will update with new activities as the week goes on. Please explore and enjoy this learning time with your child and share pictures and videos on Dojo! Don't forget to check out all the great resources on the tabs above! Literacy Time Our letter for this week is Letter A. Watch Miss Marnie teach uppercase and lowercase A using the link to the right. 1. Or they can skywrite with a pointer finger. Your child can finish by watching a number of their choice. Story Time As we begin our new theme this week about Ponds we will read the story A Frog In A Bog. This is a fun book about a hungry frog. He eats all kinds of critters in the bog until he can't eat any more. Lots of rhythm and rhyming along with counting. See the link to the read aloud below and some fun activities to go along with the story! Math Activities Check out these pond themed math activities! Science As we focus on the theme of ponds and with our activities this week, there are some fun science lessons you can do with your children. Talk to your child about the lifecycle of a frog. The stages that start with an egg until it grows into an adult frog. Below is a video that helps explain along with some activities. You may also want to explore what a bog is with your child. Just google it on your device. You could even let them make some mud and play in it! Our kiddos love our sensory table in our classroom. I bet there would have been some mud making this week! Have fun exploring science at home... Art and Snack Now it's time to have fun and be creative. There are lots of fun art ideas that use simple items around your house. Please do not feel like you have to go out and purchase anything. Let's stay safe and healthy! Look at the ideas below and see if you can create something with what you find at home.
